It’s been a long time since I had a Three Floyds beer – one of the best craft breweries in the country (if not the world). But if you live outside Indiana it’s difficult to acquire their stuff. I’ve been hearing a lot of people absolutely RAVE about this beer so when Rob Walker asked what FFF beers I wanted, I made sure to include this on the list. The last of the beers donated to the show from Sean in Minnesota. This beer is a oatmeal brown ale with plenty of hops. Without giving too much away, I thought this was more of a brown IPA. I know I said I was going to try to cut back if not eliminate the “ho hum” type beer reviews, and even though I’m not a huge fan of Sam Adams, when I saw they made a new coffee stout I absolutely had to review it.Season 15, Episode 59 BREWERY’S DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION: Our coffee stout is a full bodied, rich stout that supports the espresso character of the coffee. We use 1.5 lbs of Sumatran coffee per barrel. Rich and toasty, the flavor leads with coffee and follows with underlying notes of chocolate, caramel, and dark fruit. Michigan Brewing Screamin’ Pumpkin…

This is the first of many beers I’ll be reviewing that were sent to me from Rob Walker. Rob said Southern Tier Pumking is his favorite pumpkin beer, but thinks this beer is a close second. This review was shot on my iPhone 3GS literally taped on top of Jay’s camera. I stopped by his apartment to drop off a beer and he suggested we shoot a review while I was there. Since I didn’t have my camera on me I thought it’d be fun to do an experimental review using the iPhone. Albany Craft Beer Festival – Fall 2011…

Another beer fest in Albany already?! I had mixed feelings about this fest the last time around, but they definitely made some improvements this time. Most notably – no tasting tickets! It’s all you can drink (and that’s always a great value). They also had flyers with a list of every brewery and the beers available (many breweries had more beers than were listed!). It was pretty loud and packed again, but I decided to film a full vlog the way I would do it at any other beer fest. In fact, I filmed almost every beer I drank but not everything made the final cut. I’m definitely looking forward to the spring edition in 2012! It only makes sense that I’m reviewing a Shmaltz beer with Winton aka youtube.com since Shmaltz’s headquarters are in San Francisco (where he lives), but their beers are contract brewed in Saratoga Springs (30 miles north of me).
